The ministry of LCIHH focuses on the wounded hearts of children from hard places, and families that have fostered, adopted, and cared for these children. This done through dispensing of information regarding resources and support services and offering informal counsel and advice with the purpose of preventing disruptions and improving the family life.
A family based ministry that utilizes the TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention from The Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development) principles to build connections, support and advocacy for families. Mentoring and advocating through role modeling, personal contacts, educating, as well as linking to support groups and training opportunities. Also providing practical help such as connections with resources and fundraising for particular needs.
Vision: To provide a safe place for families to bring their pain and disappointment regarding their foster and adoptive placements and to share knowledge and resources with them with the purpose of bringing hope and restoring the relationships that are in jeopardy of being disrupted.
A three phase ministry beginning with the use of our own family and living space to invite individual families in for connection and a safe/ nonjudgmental place to go to discuss their pain, fears, and disappointments.
The second phase would be an opportunity to help more families and facilitate other services. By expanding and adding an addition to our space to include a great room that would be available for larger numbers of families to gather for support and trainings.
The third phase would include a complete barn renovation that would include a therapeutic play area for children, private office space for counseling and a large area for multiple families to gather and receive support and training.
